去年から活動を再開した水ワーキンググループですが、 今年は、IWA（International Water Association）の定例会議へ 学生を派遣することになりました。 国際的に話題となっている水問題について知り、 水分野で世界的に活躍する方々と交流できる絶好の機会です！ Conferenceの詳細と応募方法については、 以下の告知文に載せていますのでご確認下さい。 皆様の積極的なご応募をお待ちしています。

国際的な水問題に触れ、世界の水分野で活躍する方々と交流しませんか？

 

┃開催概要

2010年9月19-24日に、カナダ モントリオールにて IWA* World Water Congress & Exhibition**が開催されます。 この国際会議に、東京大学AGS-UTSC（SUS+）水ワーキンググループから 3～4名の学生を派遣する予定です。

◇派遣の目的
（1）世界の様々な立場の人と接し、 国際的に話題となっている水問題を知ることで、水に関する視野を広げる。
（2）水に関する世界の広範な情報を持ち帰ることで、勉強会を活性化させる。

◇スケジュール
9月17日　 日本出発
17日　 モントリオール到着
19日-24日 会議参加
26日　　　 モントリオール出発　
27日　　　 日本到着
会議期間中は、IWAの若手会員たちとのワークショップ、テクニカルツアー、gala dinnerのほか、各自関心のあるトピックの発表セッション、ワークショップに参加していただきます。

◇費用
渡航費の一部、滞在費、保険料、会議登録費をAGSが負担します。 ただし、会議登録費には朝昼代、パーティーチケット代などが含まれています。 （会議登録費に含まれているのは以下のものです。 ” attendance at the sessions, entry to the exhibition, lunch, morning and afternoon teas, Sunday welcome reception, a ticket for the Thursday gala dinner, and a reception on Monday evening.”） 航空券代に変動があるため確定はできませんが、 最大で10万円程度の自己負担となりますことをご了承ください。

┃応募資格

◇水問題に強い関心を持っていること
◇会議当日までの事前勉強会、及び参加後の事後報告会に参加できること
◇東京大学の学生であること
◇（留学生の場合）VISA取得の見通しがあること
特に水ワーキンググループの運営については、 派遣の決定以降主要メンバーとして活動に参加して頂きます。 勉強会、ブログ・メーリングリストの管理等の業務があるため、 そのための時間を確保できる方の応募を特にお待ちしています。

参加希望者は、アンケート（1．Application　2．Memorandum）の必要事項を記入し、 wwg.check[AtMark]gmail.com ([AtMark]→@)までご連絡下さい。 なお、その際件名は「IWA定例会議　参加希望」として下さい。 質問や相談等がある場合にも、気軽に上記アドレスにご連絡下さい。 選考は、書類審査とインタビューを通して行う予定です。 書類審査に通過された方には、追ってインタビューの連絡を差し上げます。 インタビューは、6月27日～30日に行う予定です。

┃About

IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition will be held in Montreal, Canada from September 19th to 24th.
University of Tokyo AGS-UTSC Water Working Group (WWG) will choose 3-4 participants in this international conference.


◇Purposes
（1）To broaden our perspectives about water by meeting people who are in variety of positions and researching the water problems in the world.
（2）To activate our group by introducing much information we got at the conference.


◇Schedule
September 17th depart from Japan
17th arrive in Montreal
19th-24th participate in the conference
26th 　depart from Montreal
27th arrive in Japan
During the conference, you will be planned to join the workshop with young water professionals, technical tour and gala dinner as well as presentation sessions and workshops that you are interested in.

◇Expense
A part of air fare, accommodation fee, traveler’s insurance and registration fee of the conference are covered by AGS.
Registration fee includes following things.
“attendance at the sessions, entry to the exhibition, lunch, morning and afternoon teas, Sunday welcome reception, a ticket for the Thursday gala dinner, and a reception on Monday evening.”
Amount of self-pay burden has not fixed yet because of air fare change, you may have to pay 100,000 yen at a maximum.

**IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition
IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition is regular conference of IWA and this is 7th conference.
Variety of participants, researchers, people from companies and entities,
for example, give presentations and exchange their ideas.
This conference covers a broad range of topics such as climate change, water management, water resource, ecosystems and health, etc.

┃Requirements

◇Strong interest and commitment in water problems
◇To attend the study meetings before participating in the conference.
Also, you are supposed to make some presentation and report the conference
in the debriefing session of WWG.
◇To be a student of The University of Tokyo
◇If you are the international student, you have to obtain a VISA before the
conference.

Once you are chosen as participants in IWA World Water Congress and
Exhibition,
you are supposed to be the committee member of WWG.
Committee members have to set the study sessions and submit articles to our blog, etc.
Therefore, we welcome the candidates who have strong motivation and can spare time to cooperate in these activities.

One of the working groups in SUS+, which is specialized in water problems.
Our aim is to consider what is needed for sustainable society from the
aspect of water by understanding water problems and researches in variety of fields.
